TIMBER TAILOR JOINS FITZROY AS RAY BAGGALEY RETIRES |
Leading shopfitter Timber Tailors today announced that it had been acquired by Nick St Aubyn, the owner of rapidly expanding Fitzroy Joinery group. Timber Tailors is being acquired together with the rest of the Raymond Baggaley group of companies. Ray Baggaley, who announces his retirement with this sale of his group, started in business on his own in 1959 and built Timber Tailors into the L20 million group which now also includes MetalSidac, Systemec and E. A. Bitterling. |
"Timber Tailors is an excellent business", Mr St Aubyn said today, "which has been founded on very similar principals to Fitzroy Joinery - quality in design, craftsmanship and a constant search for improvement and innovation. Our intention is to combine Timber Tailors' unrivalled skill and knowledge in the shopfitting sector with Fitzroy's expertise and success in implementing new production and sourcing techniques in the wider joinery market. Our ambition is to provide the enlarged group's customers with unbeatable value, without any compromise to the high standards established by Ray Baggaley over forty years. Our confidence comes from our proven success in Fitzroy Joinery and, in particular, the remarkable sales growth of our range of timber framed windows launched in 2002, which are now widely accepted as the best value timber window products in the UK market today. |
Fitzroy was established in Plymouth 50 years ago and has established a proud reputation across the south of England for excellent craftsmanship, manufacturing high quality windows, doors, staircases and undertaking projects for the fitting out of libraries, kitchens, schools and laboratories. |
"We see a long term future for MetalSidac and Systemec, with their shelving and showcase systems, as a part of our group. We will also support and develop the product range of E. A. Bitterling, whose international reputation has been built on manufacturing products and systems for abattoirs. Since Ray Baggaley acquired Bitterling in 1979 he has added exciting new products directed towards the wider food processing and manufacturing market sector. "We intend to further develop the market for this range of engineered products", said Mr St Aubyn. |
Mr. St. Aubyn added, "Fitzroy Joinery has acquired a truly exciting opportunity in Timber Tailors. Combining the forces of the leading joinery companies in Plymouth and Nottingham will give our group an unrivalled spread of manufacturing, marketing and customer support resources with which to supply our joinery and shopfitting customers throughout the United Kingdom. We are also fortunate to have the financial capacity available to invest in our group's future development." |
